This year we are making it a charity event to raise money for the Mick Johnson fund.
Mick and his wife were driving into Kildare Town last year when a tree fell on their car injuring both of them. Mick suffered spinal injuries which has left him paralysed. He is now in need of constant care and attention.
The Mick Johnson Fund was set up by Mondello Race Course where Mick worked. There has already been a lot done to alter their house and to provide a wheelchair accessible vehicle but a lot more needs to be done before Mick can return home.
Mick’s daughter and son in law Ann Marie and Declan Earley are members of our club. Declan is the brother of Martin Earley and in fact at the time of the accident Mick and his wife were training to ride the 20k route of the Martin Earley Tour of Kildare.
All proceeds of the Twin Peaks Challenge go to the fund so please try to support our cycle. If you would like a sponsorship card please email me your address.
